Lia Time is flying *week 8*

I remember even as a child, I always thought teenagers were so cool. I assumed teenagers had so much fun, they could do whatever they wanted, which we now know isn’t the case for many teens. At some point we all have wanted to be older. This year turning 17 I wish I could now reverse the clock. I really don’t know where all the time went in life or high school. I remember my older sister would constantly tell me when she was in high school, “high school goes by in a flash so enjoy your time”, but at the time I didn’t realize how right she was.

Just yesterday I was a freshman in high school and now I’m a junior, which is still honestly crazy to me. It’s also quite odd how I started quarantine as a sophomore, and it’s been a whole year since covid started. Covid has only made it seem like the time is speeding up, and our expiration date as carefree teenagers is nearing. As my senior year is approaching steadily, it makes me think maybe I should have spent more nights out, more nights living my life. There were many nights I stayed inside, boxed up, wasting my precious time that I took for granted until now. I would give anything to be as happy as I was my freshman year. It was before everything happened, I was the old me, the always happy me that never noticed time was flying by.

  1. Maybe you should stop CANCELLING OUR PLANS. Anyways...I totally get how you feel. My parents, grandparents, brother, older friends, etc., had all warned me how quickly high school comes to an end. It felt like yesterday when I was an incoming freshman taking a tour of the school with so much fear. you shouldn't feel guilty about "wasting" all those nights out, in those moments, you were most comfortable at home. Forcing yourself out of the house is never enjoyable, especially when it's not with the right people.
