My parents surprised us with a trip down to Orlando, Florida, this past week (over the half days). We went to Disney on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and then Universal Studios today (Thursday) and again tomorrow (Friday). The last time we visited Orlando was five years ago when we lived in Tampa, about an hour and a half away from the parks. There’s a lot I don’t remember. It’s especially fun to be here with my younger brothers. Hunter was only four years old last time we were here, so most of this is all new to him. It’s been super fun to see his excitement throughout the whole experience. Austin is the biggest Harry Potter and Star Wars fan. He loved Star Wars land in Hollywood Studios and, as a birthday surprise, was thrilled with our visit to the world of Harry Potter in Universal. While we’ve had a great time, it’s also a bit sad because this is our first vacation without my older sister. She’s out at college and is currently stressed with difficult classes, tests, and midterms. It’s definitely been weird without her here.
It’s been really hot this past week, which is especially nice considering the cold week it’s been in Pennsylvania. Even with the deathly hot temperatures, it’s been so refreshing and energizing to have the sunshine and blue skies. It’s also been nice to have a break from school and the stress of life. I was able to get a good majority of my work done ahead of time, so I didn’t have to worry about much while we’ve been here. We’ve all been a little overwhelmed lately, so family time was exactly what we needed.
I bet it was nice to get away from all this mess in the past year. I personally love Florida. My whole family is actually from there, so I always used to visit. With covid though I haven't been able to go and visit my grandma sadly, but in may I will be going back to Florida finally!!!
ReplyDeleteI have actually never been to Florida, but this past week my family was talking about going possibly next summer! I went to Disney Land a few years ago, but I heard Disney World is a little bit different, so I would love to see and try all of the other rides! I hope you're enjoying this time away from the stress!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so great that you were able to get a break from all of the stress. Florida is such a nice place. I went to Disney a little over a year ago, and it was such a great time. I'm not really a fan of the cold, so the weather down there was so nice compared to PA. I'm so glad you got to spend quality time with your family!
ReplyDeleteI went on vacation to Florida too this past summer and had so much fun visiting the parks, so I really hope you did too. I absolutely loved Harry Potter world at Universal, and visiting Disney is always amazing. Having a little getaway from all the stress must have been nice, especially if the getaway includes rides and fun! I'm glad that you got to experience the Universal and Disney magic again after all these years, I hope you enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteI've actually been going to Florida 2-3 times a year for at least 7 years now and it never fails to get me in a great mood. It is always super fun!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to Florida right about now. Our trip got cancelled for cheering because of covid and im so upset about it! Im glad you could get away and have fun though!
