It has become somewhat of an annual tradition for my mom and I to take a day trip into a surrounding city such as Philadelphia or New York City. Three years ago we went with my friend and her mom into NYC and two years ago my mom and I went again with my aunt and cousin. We would eat delicious food, visit all of the tourist attractions, and see off-Broadway plays. We even ice-skated in the Rockefeller center! Those trips were so much fun, and though I could never live in a city, I think it's always super cool to experience that fast-paced city life every once in a while. Obviously we weren't able to plan a trip last year, but we have started to plan a trip to Boston when it becomes safer to travel to more densely populated areas.
My family traveled to Maine in the summer of 2015 and on our way up we stopped in Boston. Unfortunately, I can't recall very much of it, but I do remember visiting the Boston Aquarium and holding live lobsters which was very cool! That was my first time traveling to the New England region, and ever since that trip I've wanted to go back again. Some of the top colleges on my list are even in new England. Hopefully everything will begin clearing up soon and we can take another trip to Boston. For now, it's nice to have something to look forward to.
That's really cool that you and your mom to take trips to cities each year! I also love going to the surrounding cities since it's a nice change of scenery that you can't really experience anywhere else. I've never been to Boston, but I've heard a lot of great things about the city and I would love to visit it as well!
ReplyDeleteThis made me realize I have not been to too many surrounding cities in or near PA. My family loves traveling outside the country so we don't really see what's around us. Other than where I live, I have been to NYC and Pittsburgh, other than that I have not really explored PA.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that you and your mom and some of your family got to visit the cities! Aquariums and food were and probably still are my favorite things about any trip. I've also, been to Boston, and it seems like a pretty fun area, the college town is very pleasant and has really good vibes!!
