Elarousy week 5 : Covid-19 Vaccine

It is odd how when this pandemic started, everyone was so eager fr the vaccine and contemplating why it took such a long time to produce, test, and manufacture once it had been approved. When in reality the medical community worldwide worked tirelessly to develop a vaccine for a new and never-before-seen virus. yet now they refuse to take it because they think it was rushed despite hundreds upon hundreds of clinical trials with an exceedingly minuscule amount of people suffering from the side effects of the vaccine.

Most people are anxious and worried about the vaccine despite them not ever having negative experiences with vaccines. nonetheless, there is so much uncertainty toward the covid-19 vaccine and trust in the fact that it is going to be harmful, to the point where it will cause more harm than good. Especially when there isn’t any evidence to support their claims. Besides, the only reason we were able to get a vaccine so soon was because of all the unbelievably high amount of funding and media attention, the people who were involved in the creation and procession of the vaccine, were getting. The reason the vaccine seems to have come out “ too early” isn’t because the science was rushed, but because there were unprecedented numbers of people working 24/7  on this. The trials finished so quickly because of that. Even though normally it would be very hard to fund such trials. but, the size of the subject pools for these studies was astronomical.

There will always be people who react badly to a substance, there are people who are allergic to a huge variety of things such as water or sunlight, that doesn’t automatically make appropriate doses of the substance dangerous for the vast majority of people.

  1. I agree! With all the research, time, and effort that was put into the vaccine, I trust that it's safe. Also to note, it was able to be developed so quickly due to new technology that recently came out. My dad has gotten both rounds of the vaccine already since he works at the hospital. As soon as it becomes available to the rest of us, I plan on getting vaccinated as well.
