It has been proven that winter weather affects moods of humans. Most people experience decline in energy and motivation, as well as changes in sleeping patterns and moods. It is more apparent in the Northern Hemisphere where seasonal changes are obvious. It's important in the winter for people to get outside and spend time in the sunlight rather than under artificial lights inside.
I know, from my personal experience, that I get more irritated, fatigued and less motivated in the winter. It's cold, it's always windy, it's always cloudy. I prefer warm weather and being able to wear shorts and soak up the sun. Having more vitamin D has been scientifically proven to ward off depression and make us happier.
I'm hoping that this warmer weather stays consistent and that we continue to have less rainy and snowy days. Not only does it make me want to spend more time outside, work productively for my two jobs, but it also creates a better mindset towards school.
As much as I don't enjoy winter, I have to admit that the snow is really pretty when it first is falling and right afterwards. Even if I like the snow, I can't wait for Spring and Summer. I'm eagerly waiting for shorts and t-shirt weather and being able to be outside and get tan.
I agree with you completely! The weather truly does alter my mood, especially if it's raining. Rain always makes me feel lazy, tired, and grumpy. I lose all my energy and I just like to lay around. I am glad the weather is finally getting good again!
