Kane Week 6- EPC Championship
Today we had our EPC cheer championship. We've been waiting for our first competition for months now. With so many obstacles and challenges, our season has been a bit bumpy, but we overcame these in the end. To begin, I arrived at the trainer's at around 2:50 to get my wrist taped before our competition. After this, we warmed up in the gym and got everything together to go to Easton High School. We boarded the bus and headed to the school. It was different than most comps because there was a limited amount of teams allowed in the gym at a time. We also couldn't have any parents or spectators attend the competition, so they view via zoom. We went into their gym, warmed up again, stretched, and got ready to perform. The anticipation to get on the mat built as we stood on the bleachers. We waited to walk down, talked as a team, and stepped on the mat. We put our all out there tonight, and that's what matters most. Immediately after we performed, we got on the bus and joined the live stream to watch the other teams. We paid close attention to their faults and tried to compare them to ours. We arrived back at the gym where we ate dinner and watched the remainder of the competition. We really got to bond as a team and experience this whole thing together. At 7, the coaches joined a zoom to hear the results, without us knowing what to expect, we were called up to the main gym while a basketball game was occuring. We sat down in the bleachers and watched a bit of the game. During the time out though, we got an announcement... WE WON THE EPC CHAMPIONSHIP. We went crazy and headed out to the lobby to celebrate. We had a team talk and then headed home. We were the second cheer team in Nazareth to win the EPC gold. It was truly an amazing night that I will never forget:)
